As the title suggests this book is a guide to the restoration of Moto Guzzi V-twin motorcycles. Mick Walker who is the expert on Italian motorcycles writes the book. It guides you from the initial steps of selecting your project bike and setting up your work area, right through to getting your finished project back on the road. Each chapter is about a certain aspect of the bike, for example the frame or the controls, and the chapter is further sub-divided into the different model types. Engine, gearboxes, the lot are stripped down for a total rebuild. The text is clear to read and unlike the Guzzi factory manuals, there aren’t any problems with translation! The book is full of clear photographs and diagrams, which will help anyone who is undertaking a full nut and bolt restoration of their bike or who simply wants to know more about the mechanics of their machine.

Whenever I work on my bikes, I never find that the usual Haynes or Clymer manuals are 100% useful by themselves and will often seek a second opinion from elsewhere. This book will act as a good supplement to the Haynes and Guzzi factory manuals for general maintenance.

The book also contains the obligatory Guzzi history and many tables of frame numbers, torque wrench settings and model specifications etc. to keep all of us Guzzists quite for many hours.

I have many books on Moto Guzzis and most sit on the coffee table, but I know that this one is going to be well used and covered in oily fingerprints this time next year. This book is essential for any owner of a Moto Guzzi V-twin who wishes to know more about these machines.
