Got a Guzzi Got a Grin

I have been looking for this book for a while. Being a Guzzi owner it is a good starting point for all routine maintenance and also includes some very useful technical information. Purchasing the book was a very simple process and I was pleasantly surprised that a second hand workshop manual would be in such good condition.

Basic work onlyReview date: 2004-12-17 Rating: 4 out of 10Whilst I have always used haynes manuals before this is the first time that i had bought one originaly written so long ago. I found the book seriously lacking in detail for anything more than a routine service. For example no torque settings for any bolts, and lots of missing information. And if you want to sort any electrical faults (pretty much guaranteed on a 20+ year old italian bike) you definitely need to look elsewhere. The whole electrical section is based around the now outdated premise that multimeters are beyond the price reach of any home mechanic and so any electrical work should be entrusted to a garage. It may cost a whole lot more but if you really intend working on your bike a genuine Guzzi workshop manual is pretty much a must have, that and Guzziology. All you ever wanted to know about your GuzziReview date: 2001-07-09 Rating: 8 out of 10Haynes have once again followed their standard formulae and produced a generic workshop manual that covers the Moto Guzzi V twin series from 850cc to 1000cc, 1974 to date, in both manual and automatic transmission format. While the book scores good points on layout, information provided and presentation it covers a large number of model and country varients and therefore fails to some degree to provide a resource specific to a particular model.
The book does provide a good section covering regular serving requirements, as well as more detailed chapters that give more detailed information required for repairs or major work.
